People with a disability
Mosman Council provides a range of services for residents with disabilities, their families and carers, including information, assessment and referral services.
Council’s Aged and Disability Services is staffed by professionals and supported by trained volunteers. Please contact us for more information between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday, phone 9978 4119.
Activities
Services and activities for people with disabilities in the Mosman area include:
Saturday Youth Group
Meets on the third Saturday of each month.
The group offers young people (12 – 18 years) with a disability who live in Mosman the opportunity to get-together, have fun and make friends.

Drama Group
Meets every Thursday in the Seniors Centre, 4.30pm – 5.30pm.
This is an interactive drama and improvisation course for young people with disability. Self-expression is encouraged using music and sounds, mime and improvisation. Each session is skillfully designed to help participants with interpersonal and communication skills while developing an appreciation for story telling.

Stroke Recovery Group
The Lower North Shore Stroke Recovery Group meets every Tuesday morning from 9.30 – 12 noon at the Mosman Baptist Church. A Speech Pathologist and Diversional Therapist attend, The weekly group meetings offer emotional support and understanding. Transport can be provided.
Warringah Disability Newsletter
As part of the Shorelink library network to which Mosman belongs, Warringah Council produces a regular newsletter providing comprehensive information on services, seminars and events that may be of interest to people with a disability, carers, service providers and members of the community.
Access
Access to the local community is facilitated by the Mosman Access Advisory Group. The group meets bi-monthly to facilitate improved access for people with disabilities who live in Mosman.

Community Transport
The service has two wheelchair-modified buses, which are used for group / individual transport, for people who have health-related or social transport needs and are unable to use regular transport.

Beach Wheelchair
The beach wheelchair is available to access the water at Balmoral Beach.
