School holiday program

Mosman Council provides holiday activities for school students in years 6—9 during public school holidays.

The holiday program is a safe, supervised environment for young people offering a range of fantastic excursions and centre activities. The program encourages young people to socialise, learn new skills and relax with peers.

Qualified and experienced staff supervise the young people between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm.

Knitting for Charity

Available every afternoon from 3pm-6pm at Mosman Youth Centre

Join the ‘Knit Wits’ and help knit squares to make blankets for orphaned kids in Africa. No knitting experience necessary – learn how to knit in a fun environment. It is free and all materials are supplied. Open to young people in Years 6-12.

Come in on Thursdays for our dedicated knitting sessions or drop in any afternoon during the week. Knit as much or as little as you like – every stitch counts!

Friday Night Out

Friday night excursions are subsidised activities for young people in years 7 to 12. Transportation and food are provided. The events are held once a term. Keep an eye out on this page! Email the Youth Services team.

‘Girls Only’ Stuff

Come to our ‘Girls Only’ activities for fun and flair! Facilitated by female staff members. For bookings and more information contact the Youth Centre on 9978 4013 or email. Keep an eye out on the website for our next event of pampering and ‘you’ time!


Saturday Youth Group

Saturday Youth Group is a social recreation Program for young people with physical or intellectual disabilities between 11 and 17 years of age who are living, studying, playing, or socializing in Mosman.

The service provides monthly excursions and activities for up to 15 participants.

Activities and excursions take place every third Saturday of the Month and run between 10am and 3pm unless otherwise specified.

Discobility

Discobility is a Dance Party for young people aged 11—24 with a disability held several times throughout the year at the Mosman Youth Development Centre. Light refreshments are provided and prizes awarded. Discobility is held on Friday evenings from 7pm – 10pm.

Youth Health Forum

The Youth Centre holds two health information forums for young people in conjunction with Mosman High School, local Police, Holyoake and other local youth service providers each year.

Inter-generational projects

To promote community development and the positive attributes and talents of the young people in the Mosman area, the Youth Centre aims to have several recreational or art-based inter-generational projects each year to promote better understanding between the generations.
