Role of Group

  • To encourage community dialogue with Mosman businesses in local and regional planning for economic development
  • To support the Mosman Business Enterprise Centre and the Mosman Women in Business Network
  • To support the Council sponsored Young Achievement Australia program
  • To support Mosman Business Watch in conjunction with Harbourside Local Area Command
  • To drive the promotional theme for the Mosman business community
  • To liaise with Mosman Chamber of Commerce and continue improvements to the streetscape of commercial areas including the installation of Planter Pots
  • To keep the business community involved in and informed of relevant events, promotions and other initiatives organised by Council or others
  • To consider matters relating to tourism and visitors to Mosman
  • To consult and communicate with the Council and each other
  • To recognise the contribution of the business community to the local area

Membership

  • Elected representatives: Chair: Cr Martin Skipper; Deputy Chair: Cr Simon Menzies
  • Responsible Officers: Marketing & Communications Manager through the Director Community Development to convene and service the group
  • Other staff attending: Other staff as required
  • Community: Representatives from the business community, Chamber of Commerce and any residents who have particular expertise or interest in the role of the Community Group

Review

  • Role and membership of the group to be reviewed each year in September with membership refreshed every year through public advertisement and invitation to interested residents, business people, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and existing members.
