Role of Group

  • To encourage community dialogue on heritage and architecture issues relevant to Mosman
  • To assist Council in understanding planning and other matters relevant to both built and natural heritage and architecture
  • To review and provide advice to Council on issues relating to heritage and architectural matters
  • To encourage and promote an appreciation of Mosman’s environmental heritage and architecture through education, exhibitions and research
  • To discuss issues relevant to the conservation and promotion of the environmental heritage, cultural significance and architecture of Mosman
  • To assist Council in understanding the needs and aspirations of persons with an interest in Mosman’s heritage and architecture
  • To assist Council to liaise effectively with groups and individuals interested in heritage and architecture issues
  • To consult and communicate with Council and each other
  • To celebrate heritage and architecture in Mosman

Membership

  • Elected representatives: Chair: Cr Anne Connon; Deputy Chair: Cr Patricia Harvey,
  • Responsible Officers: Manager Planning & Transport and Manager Development Services through the Director Environment & Planning to convene and service the group and report to Council when appropriate
  • Other staff attending: Other staff as required
  • Community: Representatives from the relevant professional bodies, academic institutions, Aboriginal groups and independent experts and organisations and any residents who have particular expertise or interest in the role of the Community Group

Review

  • Role and membership of the group to be reviewed each year in September with membership refreshed every year through public advertisement and invitation to interested professional associations, academic institutions, Aboriginal groups and independent experts and existing members.
