Role of Group
- To encourage community dialogue on recreation and leisure issues affecting Mosman
- To assist Council in understanding the needs and aspirations of the active recreation community
- To provide advice on planning for any new sports and active recreational facilities and services, playgrounds and bicycle paths
- To discuss issues relating to the use of existing facilities
- To address matters relating to ovals other than their seasonal use
- To consult and communicate with the Council and each other
- To celebrate leisure activities and achievements, including through the Sporting Wall of Fame
- To celebrate the work of sports volunteers
Membership
- Elected representatives: Chair: Cr Lynette Elsegood; Deputy Chair: Cr Dominic Lopez
- Responsible Officers: Marketing and Communications Manager through the Director Community Development to convene and service the Group and to report to Council when appropriate.
- Other staff attending: Open Space Coordinator and other staff as required.
- Community: One representative from each sporting and active recreation group and school in Mosman by invitation of the Council and any residents who have particular expertise or interest in the role of the Community Group.
Review
- Role and membership of the group to be reviewed each year in September with membership refreshed every year through public advertisement and invitation to interested residents, sporting and active recreation groups, school, volunteers and existing members.
