Community Safety

Council is working to maintain Mosman as a safe, welcoming environment through strategies that improve public safety and reduce crime. These are being addressed through working collaboratively with our local Police – Harbourside Local Area Command – as well as community organisations and Fire Brigade, Ambulance and State Emergency Services.

  • Rangers

    Council’s Rangers are on duty 7 days a week from 6am to 10pm, and can be contacted on 9978 4081 or 0419 784 081.

  • Graffiti and vandalism

    Responses to graffiti and vandalism, including prompt removal of graffiti, preventative measures and supplying information on graffiti offences..

  • CCTV

    Closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras are located at Council facilities to reduce crime by deterring potential offenders, assist police in the detection and prosecution of offenders and to assist Council in general claims management. The CCTV system also aims to enhance community safety.

  • Local Solutions to Local Crime & Safety Issues

    A plan designed to address local crime and safety in the area, covering a range of activities including communication, combating crime, community involvement and emergency management.

  • Emergency Management

    Be prepared should an emergency occur. This page offers advice on how to minimise risk from storms and bushfires and suggests personal emergency kits for unexpected events. Council also has a role in bushfire hazard reduction and preparing local area disaster plans.

  • Safe Communities program

    The goal of the Safe Communities Program is to reduce the incidence of injury by developing community based approaches to injury prevention.

  • Road Safety

    Mosman Council’s Road Safety Officer provides educational campaigns to help reduce crashes and casualties on our roads.
