  • Food Regulations

    To comply with Council’s food regulations, and keep food safe to eat and free of contamination, please note the following laws, regulations and guidelines.

  • Hair & Beauty

    During hairdressing procedures, infection may occur when items such as razors, scissors, combs, and clippers accidentally penetrate the skin.

  • Cooling Systems

    Legionnaires’ disease breeds abundantly in cooling systems which are inadequately treated. Under the Public Health Act, proper installation, maintenance and cleaning of cooling systems is required.

  • Greywater

    With increasing community interest in water conservation, the disposal and reuse of greywater is an important public health issue. Caution is required in its use, as it may also contain high levels of pathogenic micro-organisms.

  • Smoke Free Zones

    Mosman Council has made its beaches, children’s playgrounds, playing fields and some public space areas smoke free.

  • Tobacco Control

    In NSW, there are several pieces of legislation relating to tobacco control. Challenging the acceptability of smoking as a social norm, these complement other tobacco control activities such as education campaigns and cessation programs.

    Cleansing public areas prevent pollution, maintain public amenity of public spaces and reduces risks to public health.

  • Pesticide Use

    The Notification Plan aims to ensure that the community are made aware of pesticide applications that are made to outdoor public places . Notification allows members of the community to take action to avoid or minimise contact with such pesticide if they so choose.
