New Year’s Eve fireworks from Bradleys Head

Entry Free (site opens at 6pm on 31 December)
Capacity 5,000 (this park will be closed once capacity is reached). An electronic message board will be located at Mosman Junction near the Buena Vista Hotel on 29 December advising of occupancy status at Bradleys Head.
Toilets Yes, including toilets with disability access.
Alcohol BYO – alcohol will not be on sale at this site.
Food and Beverage BYO – food and beverages will not be on sale at this site.
Restrictions Please leave glass and pets at home and note that BBQs, tents, umbrellas, fires, fireworks and naked flames are not allowed. For your safety, please stay back from cliff edges, do not climb trees or veer off paths, and take care of vegetation. The park will close once the fireworks are finished and visitors must leave at this time.
Access Entry is via Bradleys Head Road, Mosman. The park will closed to the public from 8pm 30 December 2010 reopening 6pm on 31 December for NYE access. All entry points will be closed until 6pm on the 31st, including Athol Bay, Tailors Bay, main entry on Bradleys Head Road, and the boardwalk from Taronga Zoo. Local road closures will be in place.

Parking Please use public transport – there is no parking, including no specific parking for people with a disability.

Traffic & transport information

Road closures

The RTA and NSW Police will implement road closures from 2pm on 31 December 2010 at:

  • Bradleys Head Road all directions at Whiting Beach Road at 2pm
  • Full Road Bradleys Head Road south bound at midnight
  • Whiting Beach Road at Bradleys Head Road all directions at midnight
  • Full Road Bradleys Head Road at Thompson Street southbound at midnight
  • Thompson Street southside (eastbound) at midnight
  • Silex Road full road closure all directions at 10am
  • Spit Road at the Military Road intersection lane closure city bound at 11pm

Police will be on duty at all road closures to monitor traffic flows.

Special Event clearways

Road closures and Special Event clearways will be in place in a number of CBD, Harbour Foreshore and other locations on Thursday 31 December 2010 to ensure clear progress for New Years Eve.

Mosman Rider

The Mosman Rider – your free hail-and-ride, 7 day a week community bus – will operate on both New Years Eve and New Years Day between 8am and 6pm.
