A brief history of Mosman Mosman history began more than 40,000 years ago as the Borogegal tribe inhabited the Mosman area, and continued with European settlement in 1789. Learn of the prominent individuals and events which have shaped our Municipality.
Aboriginal Mosman Three Aboriginal clans lived in Mosman. The Boregal clan inhabited the Bradley’s Head area, the Gorualgal from Chowder Bay to Georges Heights and the Birrabirragal were at Middle Head and the Spit. The Cameragal clan was also influential in Middle Harbour.
Mosman Sporting Wall of Fame Centrally located at the Mosman Swim Centre, The Mosman Sporting Wall of Fame allows for the exploration of the rich sporting history of Mosman.
The Society of Arts and Crafts of New South Wales and Australian Art Pottery Founded in 1906 by a group of Mosman craftspeople, the Society contributed to a unique tradition of Australian decorative arts.
Potteries in Mosman During the 1940s, Mosman became the home of two famous names in pottery, Rose Noble and Vande.
