Mosman features many beautiful bays and beaches punctuated by rugged headlands and sandstone cliffs. From swimming, sailing and scuba diving to sun baking and picnicking, the bays, beaches and bushlands of Mosman attract thousands of residents and visitors each week in search of recreation and leisure, and have done so for more than a century.
Parks & Reserves Council provides open space which serve as venues for both formal and informal recreation for all age groups in the community.
Playgrounds Mosman has 17 public playgrounds. These playgrounds vary from simple swings and climbing structures to the latest in playground equipment and play design incorporating public art, educational features and equipment for junior and senior users.
Sporting fields Mosman has a range of sporting fields and facilities available for use. These are very well utilised by a variety of local and regional school and sporting groups.
Beaches Mosman is home to some of the most picturesque beaches in Sydney, including Balmoral, Chinamans and Cobblers Beaches.
Mosman Swim Centre The Mosman Swim Centre is located in Vista Street, Mosman, and features a 6 lane 25m indoor heated pool with change rooms and showers.
Balmoral Oval Skate Park The Balmoral Oval Skate Park was opened in March 2005. The facility is designed for skateboards, bikes, rollerblades and scooters.

Walks in Mosman With its idyllic setting, Mosman has many beautiful foreshore and bushland walks. Brochures can be downloaded which include maps and items of heritage significance that can be seen along the route.
Dog exercise areas Mosman has many parks, reserves and beaches for you to walk your dog, both leashed and unleashed.
Sydney Harbour National Park Some areas of Mosman’s bushland and foreshores are part of Sydney Harbour National Park. Regular tours are run at Bradley’s Head and Middle Head which include guided bushwalks, bushfood tours, and tours through historic tunnels and underground fortifications.
