Local Heritage Fund increased by $10,000
If you are the owner of a heritage building you may be able to benefit from a budget increase in funding to assist you maintain your building.
Mosman Council has increased its Local Heritage Fund from $20,000 to $30,000 per year.
Three hundred more properties in Mosman have become eligible for the Fund following the making of two new Heritage Conservation Areas in the Mosman Local Environmental Plan 2012 – the Glover and Nathan’s Estates Conservation Area (Belmont, Glover St and Cabramatta Roads) and the Lower Boyle Street Conservation Area.
The Fund, established in 1998, awards dollar for dollar grants for small conservation works within the public domain to people owning heritage items, or buildings in heritage conservation areas. Past projects have included reinstating missing heritage elements such as bay windows and verandah balustrades, or repainting fences and above awning shop facades. There are over 400 listed items, and over 800 properties in heritage conservation areas in Mosman.
