Notice of spraying for weed control in August
As part of its annual weed control program Council will be undertaking broad scale spraying of selective herbicides on its Sporting Ovals and Parks and Reserves to control broad leaf weeds in turf areas during the following periods:
- Parks & Reserves 13 August – 17 August
- Sporting Ovals 20 August – 24 August
And if required a follow up application:
- Parks & Reserves & Sporting Ovals – 10 September – 14 September
Councils Pesticide Use Notification Plan requires Council advertise broad scale spraying of herbicide to allow members of the public the opportunity to avoid contact with herbicide application.
Council will ensure the herbicides are applied to public places in a safe, responsible manner, minimising harm to the community and the environment. Council will also ensure that all legislative requirements are met and followed.
Council will have relevant material safety data sheets on hand to respond to enquiries.
