Winners of 2012 Mosman Youth Awards in Literature announced

This was a very special year for the Mosman Youth Awards in Literature as it marked the twentieth time the competition had been held.
Three hundred entries were received, and the Presentation Evening was held recently at Mosman Library. Short-listed entrants and their families, teachers, sponsors, competition judges and the Mayor of Mosman, Councillor Anne Connon, were among the 120 people who attended.
The judges commented favourably on the standard of this year’s entries and congratulated all the short-listed writers, saying that the quality of entries made it particularly difficult to choose the winners. In fact it was decided to award two extra prizes in the Primary Prose category.
This year’s awards were sponsored by Rotary Club of Mosman, Mosman Lions Club, Liley and Liley @Willoughby, Ferry to Mosman Committee and Mosman Community College. The total amount awarded for prizes was $2,125.
