Community Film NightPosted Wednesday 08 November 2017
Here’s your chance to support local services in their efforts to prevent domestic violence and see the acclaimed film ‘Wonder’ at the Cremorne Orpheum. This Community Film Night welcomes everyone and provides an opportunity to meet local services and find out more about support available in the Lower North Shore. Information and brochures will be available as well a selection from the Positively Remarkable People photographic exhibition about the remarkable people in Sydney making a difference in preventing gender-based violence.
16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. The campaign runs every year from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and White Ribbon Day, to 10 December, Human Rights Day.
The event, on Thursday 30 November, is being organised by the Lower North Shore Domestic Violence Network, which is an interagency services network to develop and implement evidence based initiatives which address the causes and consequences of domestic violence across the Lower North Shore and is supported by NSW Police, NSW Health and the four councils of the Lower North Shore, including Mosman Council.
