You won’t run out of ideas for keeping the children amused during the summer holidays if you take advantage of the fantastic array of activities Mosman Council is providing for kids aged 6-17.
Already at the Library kids have been having fun at Questacon Science Squad a mobile science lab and there was great hilarity at our Kids Quiz afternoon with resident quizmaster Oscar in charge.
Our ever popular summer reading programs Treasure Trove for independent readers up to age 12 and Reading Rave for ages 12 – 17 are going strong and there is still plenty of time to sign up and start reading. There are even great prizes to be won.
Don’t despair if you missed these activities, there are a number still to come including: Stories at the Zoo from 12.00pm at Backyard to Bush on Wednesday 23 January and an Open Craft Creative Workshop on Thursday 24 January from 4.00pm in the Library. No need to book for these activities just turn up.
There will be loads of fun for teens guaranteed at a second night of Wii and pizza with Wii @ the Library 6.00 – 8.00 pm on Wednesday 23 January. For bookings at this free activity phone 9978 4091.
There are still limited places available in the Vacation Care program which has a full calendar of fun activities. Some of the upcoming events for the Mosman Juniors (K, 1 & 2) are Movies @ Collaroy, Extreme Sports Fun, Discovering our Natural World at Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden and Play Planet.
Kidzone is for children in Years 3-6 and upcoming activities for this age group are; Food and Fun from around the World, Putt Putt and more at Olympic Park, Cricket and Meat Pies, a Balmoral walk and Movies at Cremorne. Please phone 9978 4161 for more information.
Suitable for ages 6 and up (including adults) is Coastal Critters and Litters on Sunday 20 January from 10.00 – 11.30am at Clifton Gardens. This session will provide you with lots of hands-on fun as you explore our coastal environment.
For ages 10 and up (including adults) Science of the Surf Talk to be held in the Council Chambers on Thursday 31 January from 6-7pm is a must for those interested in beaches and those wanting to gain valuable surf safety tips. For bookings phone 9978 4092.
