Kevin Wadham was a regular competitor at international level in the 1970s and early 1980s. He made his debut in 1972 as a youngster at the Cherub World Championships.

Starting out as a 7 year old in the Manly Juniors he graduated through the Flying Ants and Cherubs to the 12ft Skiffs. It was in the 12s that he had most success, winning the 1981 Interdominion and the 1978-79 Australian Championships.

He took on the 18-footers in 1981-82 and as skipper was runner up in both the 1982 and 1983 World Championships as well as being third in the 1981-82 and 1982-83 Australian Championships.

A career highlight was beating legendary skipper Iain Murray in the heats of the World Championships.

Kevin was also one of the first persons to windsurf in Australia. He competed in the Windsurfer Worlds in 1977, coming 3rd in Slalom and 5th in Course Racing.
