Peter ‘Percy’ Philpott OAM
Cricket

Player, coach, commentator and author. Peter Philpott's illustrious cricket career began at the age of 15 when he made his first grade debut.

A legbreak bowler of the highest standards, Peter represented NSW in the Sheffield Shield from 1955-68. He donned the baggy green against West Indies (1965), England (1966) and New Zealand (1967), and was a professional player in England and South Africa from 1955-62.

Peter's coaching record is second to none, having coached Australia, NSW, South Australia, Yorkshire, Surrey and the highly successful Mosman Cricket Club.

Peter's passion for the art of spin bowling lead to the establishment of "Spin Australia" in 1974 - a specialist coaching program for spin bowlers - which has been embraced by the cricketing world.

Awarded the OAM for services to cricket and the community in 2003, Peter is the author of six books.
