Water polo

Peter began playing water polo competitively while at high school. He played for Narrabeen High School and both Collaroy and Manly Clubs.

While attending Sydney Uni, he played for the Universities Club.

In 1972 he was selected to play in the Australian Water Polo team at the Olympics. He went on to represent Australia in Water Polo in four Olympic Games: 1972, 1976, 1980 and 1984 (as Captain).

In 1984 Peter's team came fifth, missing a medal by one goal on goal differences. This is still the best result the Australian Men's Water Polo team have had at an Olympic Games.

He has also represented Australia at World Championships in 1973, 1975, 1978 and 1982 (as Captain).

He has played 510 international matches for Australia and has been awarded an Order of Australia Medal. He is also an inductee to the NSW Sporting Hall of Fame.

Peter was the founding President of the World Olympian Association.
