John Cheadle

John Cheadle, who was captain of Mosman High School and a Graduate in Law from Sydney University, is a pioneer of Australian squash.

In 1957 John was the playing captain of the first Australian squash team to tour New Zealand. On this tour he won the New Zealand Squash Championship. It was also during this year that John was the Australian Squash Champion.
 
1962-63 saw John lead the first Australian squash team to visit the United Kingdom. The team was undefeated on this tour, playing against both the U.K. and South Africa.

NSW Squash Champion six times during the 1950s and 1960s, John also played first grade cricket with Mosman for over ten years and was awarded the Australian Sports Medal from the Federal Government in 2000 for services to sport.
