Sophie Cape
Skiing

The description "all round sportsperson" sits well on Sophie Cape.

A surf lifesaver who has competed at State Surf Boat Rowing Championships and National Inflatable Rescue Boat Racing Championships, a Junior State Field Hockey representative and a member of the Australian Institute of Sport Talent Identification program for Track Sprint Cycling, Sophie has achieved success in many disciplines.

But her skiing career has been at the forefront since winning interschool Alpine Ski and Freestyle Championships from 1991 to 1993.

Sophie Cape was NSW Racer of the Year (Perisher Blue, 1996), won University Games Giant Slalom races in 1997 and 1998 and competed for Australia at the World University Winter Games in Slovakia, 1999.

In Canada, where she is a qualified ski instructor and race coach, she won the Kokanee Alpine Race Series and Esquire Downhill (1995), Whistler's Suidaan Couloir Extreme Race (1996) and was Canadian Powder Eight Champion (Whistler, 1995).
