2018 Financial Statements

Mosman Waste Reduction Response
Council has concerns with the use of single-use plastic items during events and on public open space. While policies exist to guide members of the public and the community, they could be improved to clarify Council’s requirements. At the meeting Council resolved to update the Sustainable Event Management Policy and Special Event Management Policy and to undertake up to ten audits to collect data on non-compliance with the policies.
Spit East Streetscape Update
Initial work on the Spit East streetscape update was completed in December 2017. After consulting with community and receiving a contribution to the work from the NSW Transport B-Line project, Council has now resolved to award a tender to proceed with the second phase. This work will create a commuter friendly environment and increase safety and amenity for pedestrians and vehicles. It will include new recreational spaces, landscaping and furniture. Ongoing communication with local businesses and residents will occur throughout the works.

At the meeting, Council considered a report on the options available to Council to develop the Raglan Street West site, particularly in relation to increasing parking spaces for the community. After discussion, Council resolved to investigate the possibility of constructing a prefabricated single storey car park on the existing site.
