Funding for trees
Mosman Council has secured substantial funding to plant more than 160 trees as part of the NSW Government’s Greening our City program.
The initiative will help reduce heat island effects, rejuvenate tree canopy and increase habitat links throughout Mosman streets and roadways.
In particular, highly urbanised areas such as Spit Junction have been identified as planting locations to increase tree cover and assist in cooling the area to ensure it remains a vibrant place for the community to enjoy.
This grant will build on previous funding to replace trees lost during road widening for the B-Line program and will contribute to the maintenance of Mosman’s high canopy cover of approximately 35 per cent.
