Garden upgrades

Posted on Wednesday 29 March 2023

Two upgrades have recently been completed to public spaces with Council planting selected native shrubs and grasses and adding other enhancements to a small park between Spit Road and Parriwi Road as well as Newall Walk near Barry O’Keefe Library.

The park has been upgraded with the installation of 80m of sandstone garden edging and a mix of native plants including Banksia and Brush Box and the pruning of existing plants, which is hoped will discourage the dumping of household items and litter in the area.

Meanwhile potted plants and a feature Golden Elm have been planted throughout Newall Walk to enhance the area’s aesthetic and a new bench installed for passers-by and nearby workers to take a break.
