2016 Mosman Address

Posted on Thursday 13 October 2016

Attendees at this year’s Mosman Address will enjoy a three-course dinner and drinks at The Bathers’ Pavilion, Balmoral’s iconic restaurant owned by multi-award winning chef Serge Dansereau.

In celebration of Taronga Zoo’s centenary, Taronga Conservation Society Australia CEO Cameron Kerr, will deliver an address on The Modern Zoo: Conservation and partnerships to secure a shared future for wildlife and people.

“Taronga’s Centenary in 2016 has been a cause to reflect on the role of our organisation, the evolution of our activities and our legacy for wildlife in the next 100 years,” Cameron Kerr said.

Cameron has spearheaded the evolution of Taronga into a globally significant wildlife conservation organisation, which is leading the way in saving a number of iconic Australian species from extinction. This significant cultural and physical transformation of the Taronga organisation and its two zoos has resulted in its conservation science and field programs now spanning areas from the Republic of Congo to Tasmania.

After starting his career as an agricultural scientist in animal health, Cameron has held a range of senior management positions since joining Taronga Conservation Society Australia 16 years ago and was recently invited to represent the Australian Government at the United Nations Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species.

Mosman Address is an annual fundraising dinner presented by the Mosman Public Art Trust in association with Mosman Council to raise funds for public art projects in Mosman.
