Mosman celebrates seniors in April

Posted on Wednesday 7 March 2018

Mosman Council is celebrating our seniors as part of the NSW Seniors Festival across 12 days from Wednesday 4 April to Sunday 15 April. The Mosman Seniors Festival offers a range of fun activities and events at the Seniors Centre, Library and Mosman Art Gallery.

“Mosman Council is inviting all residents aged over 60 to be part of our NSW Seniors Festival celebrations this year. Our more mature residents can explore an array of exciting new activities, from Tai Chi or Zumba to sculpture or painting,” Mosman Mayor Carolyn Corrigan said.

The festival will be launched by the Mayor with a special High Tea on Friday 6 April at 12.30pm at Mosman Square Seniors Centre.

Other highlights will include the Annual Cocktail Party on Tuesday 10 April at 4pm at Mosman Art Gallery and a talk from author and ‘scent stylist’ Catherine du Peloux Menagé on Thursday 5 April at 10.30am at the Seniors Centre. Catherine will share her insights on the history of perfume and historical scents and stinks in the works of Jane Austen and Charles Dickens. A door-to-door bus will be available for residents to get to and from the Cocktail Party. Both events are ticketed and bookings are essential.

The NSW Seniors Festival is the largest festival for seniors in Australia and is designed to celebrate the role they play and contributions they make to the NSW community through a range of activities encompassing art, sport, music, entertainment, technology, recreation, health and good nutrition.
