Robert ‘Bob’ Wilmot

A former student of Middle Harbour Public School and Mosman High School, Robert showed his ability early becoming the Australian Windsurfing Champion for the first time in 1977 at the age of 15. He held the title between 1977 and 1984.

He has won six World Boardsailing Championships, a bronze medal at the 1984 Olympic Boardsailing Exhibition, and in 1988 was skipper of the Australian Olympic Team in the Soling Class.

Bob has skippered two Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race winners, Ragamuffin in 1989 and Brindabella in 1997. He was a 1985 World Match Racing Champion, a 1986 12 metre World Champion and a 1990 Liberty Cup winner. He has also sailed in America's Cup Challenges, as a mainsail trimmer for the Bond Syndicate from 1984 to 1987.
