Mosman marks National Tree Day

Posted on Friday 14 July 2017

Mosman residents will be able to play a part in restoring habitat for wildlife during Mosman Council’s National Tree Day activity at Little Ashton Reserve (off Whiting Beach Rd) on Sunday 30 July from 10am to 1pm.

The tree planting and activities are being held at a location identified by Council staff as being vital for local wildlife.

“This is an important wildlife corridor that we are aiming to restore through creating native habitats and havens for animals through the planting of indigenous native plants,” Director Environment and Planning Craig Covich said.

“Participants will also learn more about native fauna with Taronga Zoo’s Wildlife Encounters Zoo Mobile in attendance during the event.”

All are welcome with a free BBQ provided with the support of the Lions Club Mosman.

Participants can register their involvement in the free event at: http://events.mosman.nsw.gov.au/national-tree-day or http://treeday.planetark.org/site/10016305
