Taking care of business

Posted on Saturday 7 October 2017

Mosman Council will host breakfast at Mosman Art Gallery on Thursday 2 November for businesses interested in sharing their views on Mosman’s future.

As part of the lead-up to its next 10 year Community Strategic Plan – MOSPLAN 2018-2028 – Council wants to hear about the challenges, aspirations and priorities for local businesses in coming years. Input received at the business breakfast will be used alongside feedback received from other community consultations in recent months.

Mayor of Mosman Carolyn Corrigan acknowledges that local businesses are operating in challenging times, particularly with a rapidly changing retail environment.

“Many business owners and operators in Mosman want exactly the same kind of future for Mosman that our residents do, but they also have quite specific needs and expectations around business growth and profitability,” she said.

“We want to get a very clear picture of the day-to-day challenges and frustrations faced by our local businesses, their expectations of Council, and also possibly some ideas about how businesses can work with Council to deliver better outcomes for both businesses and residents.

“To maintain our unique village lifestyle, our local businesses need to be sustainable, and we want to hear how businesses see Council and others contributing to this sustainability in years to come.”

Council’s Business Breakfast at the Gallery is a free event and is open to all business operators in Mosman. The event runs from 7.30am to 9am in The Grand Hall, Mosman Art Gallery.

Places are limited and RSVPs are essential to Liz Kemp by Friday 27 October on 9978 4095 or e.kemp@mosman.nsw.gov.au
